Aonuma: Miyamoto soms te betrokken

Nieuws | 27 november 2009 - De bijna legendarische status die Shigeru Miyamoto binnen de gameswereld heeft verworven, pakt niet altijd goed uit. Dat blijkt uit een interview dat Eurogamer met game designer Eiji Aounuma had.

Quote: That’s why, in the case of the new Legend of Zelda on Wii, he’s trying to take more direct hands-on and specifically at least once every month we are having a very intimate meeting where we confirm the status quo, we discuss what needs to be done and Mr Miyamoto gives instructions as to what we need to do. And in such a situation, of course there are some heated arguments, because each of us has his own idea as to what a Zelda game should look like, should play like.

Miyamoto is blijkbaar ook erg betrokken bij de ontwikkeling van games die niet onder zijn toezicht staan, zoals de vooralsnog naamloze aankomende Zelda-game voor de Wii. Zijn verschil van mening over de look & feel van de game kan tot verhitte conflicten leiden, aldus Aonuma.
