Blizzard overweegt console project

Nieuws | 30 juli 2010 - De gamesite MCV meldt naar aanleiding van een gesprek met Blizzard, dat de ontwikkelaar van Starcraft II en World of Warcraft een console project overweegt.

Uitspraak Blizzard
Het feit dat Blizzard deze uitspraak doet sluit aan bij eerdere berichten van GamingOnly. De update komt van Vice President en Executive Managing Director of International Operations, Michael Ryder.

Quote: ”Our heritage actually goes back to console. In the early years Blizzard made console games. It’s not the heritage, it’s the design decisions and what we think is best for our players. In the more recent years it has been PC and online orientated. But we play all kinds of games at Blizzard. We try to learn wherever we can. We play console games and we are up-to-speed on the console platforms. And if we see an opportunity where the game design would work well on the console, then maybe we will go that way. We just haven’t announced anything yet.”

Console Games
Ondanks het succes van Blizzard op de PC blijft de populaire ontwikkelaar terug verlangen naar een console game. De ontwikkelaar ontwikkelde in het verleden vooral voor de SNES en Mega Drive en bracht de spellen: Rock N' Roll Racing, The Death and Return of Superman en Justice League Task Force.
